Art Vs Science @ The Palais, Adelaide Riverbank, Adelaide 10/3/2018
The audience was an eclectic mix of older fans from when Art vs Science originally started on the electronic-dance scene, to younger fans. The energetic crowd waited half an hour for Art vs Science to take to the stage. Despite the delay in start time, the group were welcomed to stage before feverishly starting to play straight up Create Destroy
The more popular hits of A.I.M Fire and Magic Fountain garnered an enthusiastic response from the audience and got them dancing excitedly.
Art vs Science interspersed a couple cover tracks among their originals including Muse’s Knights of Cydonia incorporating their electronic signature sound to this Triple J Hottest 100 winning song from 2007. They later played a cover of Gay Bar which got the audience collectively dancing and rocking into Saturday night.
Parlez Vous Francais? was left until late in the set and protracted out allowing Dan McNamee to provide guitar solo in the middle, before finishing off the song. The set finished on a high with Flippers, the song that originally shot them to fame, was played.
The Palais was a perfect venue for Art vs Science on a warm balmy evening, with a feeling of being outside and the city Riverbank precinct as the backdrop, reminiscent of an outdoor music festival.
Whilst its been a while since we’ve heard from Art Vs Science they proved that they still know how to entertain and cemented their status as an energetic and unique-sounding electronic-dance group.
