The War On Drugs Add Extra Shows
Handsome Tours, FBi Radio and Triple R are proud to announce headline shows from Philadelphia-based band The War On Drugs, joined by Middle Kids in Sydney and Melbourne this February 2018, in addition to national performances at Laneway Festival.
The War On Drugs’ 2018 tour follows the release of the band’s fourth, full-length album, A Deeper Understanding. Teaming up with engineer Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, Weezer), frontman Adam Granduciel, challenges the notion of what it means to create a fully realized piece of music in today’s modern landscape. A Deeper Understanding is a record featuring collaboration, coordination, and confidence, with deeply layered and sonically textured tracks at every turn. Each song comes to life wondrously in a live setting, mesmerising audiences and thriving on the precision within the band’s signature soundscapes.
Adored Sydney band Middle Kids, known for their hit single Edge Of Town will perform as special guests at both Sydney and Melbourne shows. The band will set the mood with their anthemic sound – a combination of hooky tune craft, ripping Music Row-inspired slide guitar leads, and soaring melodic vocals. Middle Kids shine especially bright live, where an added gear takes them from 0 to 60 in quiet-to-loud dynamics with hair-raising emotional impact.
