Scottish Rock Group The Beta Band Announce Special Guest Death In Vegas (DJ) Ahead Of Their First Australian Tour

Death In Vegas is the long-running electronic project fronted by British producer and DJ Richard Fearless. Fearless began as resident DJ at the Job Club in London’s Soho during the 90s, where he played alongside the likes of Detroit’s Claude Young, Dave Angel and his hero, Andrew Weatherall. After a few years he was picked as a resident DJ for the legendary Heavenly Social, alongside fellow residents, The Chemical Brothers. It was during this time that he started Death in Vegas. Death In Vegas has held cult status among devoted fans worldwide for their ability to constantly shift shape while staying edgy and relevant, most recently with 2025’s album Death Mask, a deep dive into heavy, melodic, tripped out analogue techno.

As a DJ, Richard Fearless has supported many bands over the years from from Suicide, Primal Scream to Nine Inch Nails. For these special shows he will DJ under his Death in Vegas moniker, expect earth shattering dub with a heavy dose of psychedelia, this will be his first time ever spinning in Australia.

Death In Vegas (DJ) will play Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth this May and June alongside The Beta Band, who are performing in Australia for the very first time playing their 1998 album, The Three E.P’s in full along with fan favourites.

The four-piece formed in Fife in 1996, bonding over a love of art and poetry in a time when toxic masculinity permeated mainstream culture. The Beta Band were determined to create the music nobody else was making, rooted in innovation rather than nostalgia. Committed to their punk ethos, the group were known for their experimental films, music videos and wild stage shows – with stories ranging from light-up velcro suits to an accidental (and very expensive) gig in a scout hut.

Following the success of their debut album The Three E.P.’s the band went on to release three more celebrated albums. After two decades, the iconic Scottish band wants to celebrate the music they’re so proud of by sharing it with the world again. In response to their recent London show, a reviewer from Music News declared “As ground-breaking as they were two decades ago, The Beta Band still hold up. Even more so now, in an age where genre boundaries have all but disappeared.”
