The Mirror @ The Octagon at Gluttony, Adelaide 19/3/2026

The team from Gravity and Other Myths presented once again their award-winning show The Mirror at The Octagon at Gluttony. When you walk into the venue you see a lone boombox on a stand, the kind from the 80s, and the lighting is dim and dark but one thing for sure this show is anything but dim and dark! The performers in The Mirror don’t need frivolous costumes and glittery distractions, between their talent and the show we saw more than enough to be stunned and amazed.

Symmetrically and in sync with every move it was a masterclass in sheer strength, stamina and flexibility and very mirror-like. This show is part acrobatics, part dance but full-on entertainment. Starting with singer Megan Drury with her haunting and moving vocals to a medley of modern pop songs, the tone was set for the first of many acrobatic scenarios. There were twists, leaps and flips, stacks of three one on top of another’s shoulders, swinging and flinging of bodies and jumps on and off each other that had the audience in awe.

Adelaide knows how to produce world class artists and productions. We were lucky to have these artists at the Adelaide Fringe before they go back on the road to present this show around the world. The Mirror was a mix of acrobatics with stunning visuals, live videos, mood lighting and clever lyrical mashups. It was elegant, eloquent and edgy. A show of storytelling in the form of song, body and soul.
