Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever Return With First New Music Since 2022
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have released their brand new single Sunburned In London, out now via our friends at I OH YOU.
The track marks the band’s first new music since the release of their last album Endless Rooms in 2022, and sees the quintet operating with a renewed sense of scale and confidence. Led by Joe Russo’s understated, emotive vocal, Sunburned In London unfolds across its six-minute runtime with layered guitars and subtle group vocals, anchored by the propulsive rhythm section of Marcel Tussie and Russo.
“As a band, we have always made songs about cities. I was thinking about sensory overload and relentless beauty, and the creeping feeling in the streets that the party’s winding up and the lights are about to come on.” — Tom Russo
Expansive without feeling overstated, the song captures Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever at their most assured; building patiently, allowing space to open up and drawing on the same spirit that defines standout moments from their catalogue such as Fountain of Good Fortune and Cars In Space.
