Gyroscope Return With New Music In The Form Of “My Broken Spine”

ARIA charting Aussie rock legends Gyroscope return with new music for the first time since 2019, with single My Broken Spine. Staying true to their riff-centric sound, the new single gives fans a taste of what’s next for the band, who are ready to turn it up in 2026…

Rumbling in thunderous energy, My Broken Spine features walls of guitars and the unmistakable roar of frontman Dan Sanders. Swirling in dissonant soundscapes, the band return to their heavier roots, in their most refined form yet. The song also debuts new drummer Sim Dreja, bringing a bold new feel to the band.

Dan Sanders says on the recording process, “We set up our own recording studio called The Skullery, and produced and engineered the track entirely ourselves. Continuing that vibe, we created Skullery Records to release our new tunes, and we can’t wait for people to hear the first taste.”

Celebrating the new release in the best way they know how, the four-piece will be heading up venues across the country. They’ll be playing Melbourne’s Night Cat, Crowbar in Sydney and Brisbane, Perth’s Rosemount Hotel, The River in Margaret River and performing at Caltowie Chilled Out ‘n’ Fired Up Festival in South Australia. Gyroscope will be closing out 2025 in SA with a show at Lion Arts Club and an appearance at Live In Lincoln Festival next week. They’ll also kick off 2026 in Bunbury with a show on February 20 at Vat 2 Beach Concert.

Forming out of their hometown scene of Perth in 1997, Gyroscope have cemented themselves as a cornerstone of Australian rock, with four acclaimed albums under their belt. Much-loved for their charting anthems like Baby, I’m Getting Better, Snakeskin, and debuting at #1 with albums like Breed Obsession, the four-piece have made their mark across the ARIA charts, earning them nominations and Gold certifications.

Famed for their ferocious live shows, Gyroscope have graced famous festival stages including Big Day Out and Groovin’ the Moo, sharing the bill with world-renowned acts like Oasis, Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World, Foo Fighters and more.
