The Plot In You “Vol. 3”

After the huge success of Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, it’s only natural that The Plot In You would drop Vol. 3 and this promises – somehow – to be bigger again.

Three tracks showing the bands musical diversity, linked by Landon Tewers journey of navigating the cognitive dissonance of a broken relationship, land and to be frank, the disappointing aspect is there are only three songs.

That may well be how the music business works these days, to be drip-fed all year round however adding these three tracks to the previous releases and you have to say, it’s working a treat.

Opener Been Here Before rips open in a hurry and stays the course with a hunters focus. Tewers vocals strained, broken yet hitting the mark with each gasp. The warped love song vibe takes a turn as the song delves into atmospherics and the layered textures of his voice play through.

Pretend has been out for a while, the 80’s pop goth vibe which clicks into a chorus that is instantly catchy has been on constant rotation since it dropped as Tewers screams about facing life and what to do to survive.

Spare Me, the third and final track, is aggressive, brutal and pours venomously out of the speakers as the beat stomps with King Kongs fury. It’s sharp yet blunt, as the dynamics switch to ethereal soft vocals before unleashing in anger, matching the lyrical content.

Then Vol. 3 finishes with a sombre piano playing and to say I’m thirsty for more would be an understatement. This EP is what the saying ‘all killer no filler’ was coined for. It keeps getting better with every listen.
