Fomo 2018

One of Australia’s most loved festivals on the summer calendar, FOMO reveals an all star line-up hitting Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney in January 2018. The one-day, one-stage festival with zero timetable clashes began in 2016, expanding from Brisbane to three cities due to overwhelming demand. Now in 2018, FOMO expands once more to Melbourne with a special, one-off evening affair, FOMO by Night.

An astute mix of international and local talent makes up FOMO, carefully curated for maximum enjoyment on one stage – helmed in 2018 by Californian phenomenon RL Grime. Selling out countless shows and headlining the best festivals around the world, RL Grime creates unmatched sets of artistic energy and production. The connoisseur of progressive sound, space and texture makes his eagerly awaited festival return, and will perform an exclusive headline set to close out FOMO 2018 in each city. This is not to be missed.

Joining the head of the bill from Montreal, the irreplaceable Kaytranada will bring his irresistible low swung bass lines to FOMO. Off the back of a widely praised and star-studded 99.9% LP, a rigorous touring schedule and collaborations with Alicia Keys and Chance the Rapper, Kaytranada masterfully assumes the top position in both the hip-hop and dance worlds, ready to make us move when he returns in January. Meanwhile, Grammy nominated ZHU will treat Australian fans to an all-new live show. The enigmatic producer will appear with a live band, with audiences set to be treated to the darker, dystopian and hypnotic creations from his brand new Stardustexhalemarrakechdreams EP.

After establishing himself as a global unstoppable force, Post Malone takes the limelight on his own accord for FOMO. From the explosive Quavo featured “Congratulations” to co-signs from everyone including the likes of Justin Bieber, Future and Metro Boomin, Post Malone will light the stage with his platinum strain of alternative hip-hop. St. Louis born, New Jersey native and the most talked-about new Artist of 2017 SZA will do the same, debuting her husky vocals and unashamedly honest and thought-provoking lyrics at FOMO – lifted from her hugely applauded debut album, CTRL. London-based Grammy winner, Tourist will bring his intricate and building house-inflected productions to FOMO, taking the summer mood to soaring heights. While Mad Decent and OWSLA favourite Drezo will punctuate FOMO with a hot flush of dark, driving bass lines, and Stööki Sound will push the boundaries of their grime rooted productions that have the world’s bass scene watching their every move.

The local rota of artists honouring FOMO in 2018 include electronic-pop legend The Kite String Tangle with his highly acclaimed live show and exquisite new self titled album, alongside DJ, producer and NLV Records label boss, Nina Las Vegas who’ll bring her hotly tipped productions for a work through. Sydney’s Sweat it Out signed club favourite Dena Amy will round out the line-up and for the first time in FOMO history, triple j Unearthed and FOMO will give four aspiring artists the chance to join the bill in each city, as part of a nationwide competition.

FOMO are also proud to announce their partnership with music charity Heaps Decent, and will be donating $1 for every 2018 online ticket sold to their cause. Since 2007, Heaps Decent have worked with young people across Australia’s metropolitan, regional and remote areas, providing quality music and art workshops to build positive stories, connections and community engagement through music production, recording and multimedia visual arts.

FOMO continues to dedicate itself to keeping ticket prices at an affordable cost for attendees. For the first time in 2018, FOMO will also offer Adelaide and Sydney ticket holders a Payment Plan option via Ticketbooth, so you can break your FOMO ticket into easy to manage monthly instalments.

Stay tuned for further updates as FOMO prepare their mighty 2018 return to Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and expansion to Melbourne for a special FOMO by Night. FOMO Eats will soon reveal that they are once again delivering a divine offering of locally sourced produce and beverages at all shows, from some of Australia’s greatest makers.
